Saxophonist and composer Nathan Zaporski hails from Detroit, a city steeped in the production of culture - there must be something in the water. Nathan has had the good fortune to work with such artists as Victor Goines, Branford Marsalis, Vincent Bowens, John Douglas, "Dr. Professor" Leonard King, Andy Middleton, T.K. Blue, Emmett Cohen and others.
Nathan's numerous performance experiences include such venues as Detroit's Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, Cliff Bells, The Mayflower Music Series, The Caucus Club, The Detroit Athletic Club, the 2019 Jazzin at the Vanity Festival (Detroit), Room 43, Andy's Jazz Club, the Billy Strayhorn Jazz Festival and Chi-Town Jazz Festivals (Chicago), Salon Shrag and ZWE (Vienna), as well as the 2015 LOTOS International Jazz Festival in Poland, where he was a guest clinician and featured soloist.
To complement his musical exploits in jazz, he is currently in the midst of writing an original cello concerto and also composes, arranges, records and produces commercial backing, neo-folk, classical, Irish and alternative music. He has released two jazz recording projects as a leader: Live Recitation (2016) and Things Unsaid - EP (2019).
