Wendell Harrison has developed an exciting musical style in the Bebop and Post Bop Jazz tradition. He has released over 30 CD's and authored several textbooks on jazz improvisation that are available in the international marketplace. January 10 through the 13th, 2018, the prestigious Dirty Dog will present the Wendell Harrison Jazz Ensemble. Wendell and his ensemble will feature the luxurious music of Pamela Wise, including compositions from her new release A NEW MESSAGE FROM THE TRIBE which is an aggregate of be-bop, Latin, and soulful jazz standards. Pamela has released many gorgeously recordings produced by Wendell who is her husband of many years. In showcasing the composing styles of his wife, Wendell will present music from Pamela's New CD production, “A new Message From The Tribe”, along with other compositions from his Tribe repertoire.

Rounding this prolific jazz ensemble are as follows: Louis Jones, drums; Jacob Schwantz, guitar; Terry Kimura, trombone, Mike Palazolo, bass; Pamela Wise, piano, and Wendell Harrison playing tenor saxophone and clarinet. Detroit continues to produce the best talent in the world, and the proof is found in the great Jazz master Wendell Harrison.
