DESCRIPTION Bass Player Ralphe Armstrong was born into a family of musicians and classically trained at Michigan's Interlochen School of Fine Arts before joining the Mahavishnu Orchestra at the age of 17. His early career placed him with a wide range of musicians, most notably jazz fusion acts Mahavishnu Orchestra and Jean-Luc Ponty. Later, he took time out to raise his children, but soon returned, playing jazz, funk, and even hip-hop, with the likes of Eddie Harris, James Carter, Curtis Mayfield and D-12.
Located on 'The Hill' in Grosse Pointe Farms, the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe presents live jazz and fine dinning in an intimate, ole English pub atmosphere. Chef Andre Neimanis serves up bistro favorites, world cuisine influences, comfort food with a twist and exciting daily specials. The wine list offers about 60 selections, 20 by the glass.
